Thungela focuses on exporting its thermal coal portfolio mainly to the Indian, Asian, Southeast Asian, Middle East and North African markets.

Job Description

You will be required to execute the creation process for all vendor types (excluding bank validations, sundry, and marketing vendors), which involves releasing questionnaires and providing assistance to ensure completion.

More of your responsibilities will include:

  • Administering the release of registrations and approving them for potential vendors invited to participate in tenders
  • Collaborating with Treasury to review the accuracy of vendor banking details
  • Validating the accuracy of vendor data, including data interfacing with other systems
  • Developing and overseeing the vendor onboarding process, ensuring alignment of data
  • Implementing and managing a comprehensive training program for all vendors, keeping them informed of updated work methodologies
  • Facilitating the seamless integration of new online Master Data Management (MDM) forms into the system
  • Maintaining vendor records, ensuring annual updates or as needed (e.g., BEE credentials, VAT, contact details)
  • Conducting data clean up activities and identify as well as manage discrepancies in an efficient manner
  • Ensuring the Master Data Materials are linked to plants, timeously created, and maintained
  • Ensuring that Service codes are created, linked to Purchasing Organisation, timeously created and maintained
  • Effectively managing stakeholders by conducting relationship management, supporting the Manager and engaging with systems specialists to discover automation opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelors ’s Degree in Operations management, Supply Chain management, Finance or a related field (NQF level 7)

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in supply chain or procurement with specific experience of master data governance and vendor management

  • Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, No 28 of 2002
  • Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act, No 53 of 2003
  • Value-Added Tax Act, No 89 of 1991
  • Protection of Personal Information Act, No 4 of 2013
  • Proficient in using technology and systems relevant to the role i.e., SAP, Ariba and SNOW
  • Proficient knowledge of vendor management processes and principles
  • Emerging knowledge of the development and management of master data standards in SC systems
  • Emerging knowledge of the applicable VAT regulations and processes
