Job Summary

The Elite Job is currently seeking detail-oriented and reliable professionals to join our growing remote team as Medical Encoders in Healthcare Data Entry. This role involves converting medical diagnoses, procedures, and treatments into standardized codes for healthcare documentation and billing purposes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and healthcare operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately review, analyze, and code diagnostic and procedural information from medical records using appropriate classification systems

  • Input and manage data into the system while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations

  • Cross-reference patient records and clinical notes to ensure code accuracy and completeness

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses or obtain additional information if required

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding guidelines, payer requirements, and coding trends

  • Audit records for discrepancies and make necessary corrections

  • Participate in ongoing training and performance reviews

  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across all platforms

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent medical coding certification

  • Solid understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent typing and data entry skills

  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Must have a quiet workspace, stable internet connection, and basic computer equipment

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical coding or healthcare data entry

  • Experience working in remote or virtual teams is a plus

  • Familiarity with multiple specialties (e.g., outpatient, inpatient, surgery, radiology) is highly advantageous

Working Hours

  • Full-time and part-time schedules available
