<p>The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing financial transactions and reporting for the APAC region, specifically Australia (AU) and the United States (US). This role ensures accurate financial reporting, effective cash management, payroll processing, and compliance with tax and legal requirements. In addition, the role provides leadership and oversight across administrative functions including IT, Human Resources, lease management, insurance coverage, legal coordination, and IRS-related matters.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Finance & Accounting Operations</p><p>Daily:</p><p>Download and archive NAB bank transactions.</p><p>Update cash forecasts for accounts receivable (AR).</p><p>Apply customer payments and record bank activity journal entries.</p><p>Verify cash records against check register.</p><p>Weekly:</p><p>Report cash flow results</p><p>Conduct collection follow-ups via calls/emails and send statements.</p><p>Approve weekly payment runs.</p><p>Assist with invoice entry as needed.</p><p><br></p><p>Bi-Weekly:</p><p>Process payroll for USA and AUS employees.</p><p>Update payroll totals in cash forecast.</p><p>Record payroll journal entries.</p><p>Review and approve expense reports for branch managers and CEO.</p><p><br></p><p>Monthly:</p><p>Maintain and update lease schedules.</p><p>Accrue payroll after final monthly payroll.</p><p>Process superannuation contributions.</p><p>Release job accruals older than 7 months.</p><p>Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation.</p><p>Record standard provisions, amortization, depreciation, prepayments, and bonuses.</p><p>Reallocate profit share to AKL.</p><p>Recharge marketing costs from AUS to USA.</p><p>Verify AR cash postings.</p><p>Record AUS intercompany translation adjustments.</p><p>Run and review financial reports: aged AR, job detail, transactions, P&L, trial balance, balance sheet, income statement.</p><p>Reconcile balance sheet accounts.</p><p>Ensure all reports and worksheets are filed in the month-end folder.</p><p>Email month-end reports to branch managers and executive team.</p><p>Review GL reconciliations and sub-ledger accounts.</p><p>Close the accounting period in CW.</p><p>Update financial reports.</p><p><br></p><p>Quarterly & Bi-Monthly:</p><p>Provide data for GST (NZ & AUS) and PAYG.</p><p>Participate in board calls (AUS financials).</p><p>Complete tax forms and returns (license, business tax, property tax, IRS).</p><p>Administrative Oversight</p><p><br></p><p>IT Management:</p><p>Oversee IT infrastructure and systems.</p><p>Coordinate with IT service providers for maintenance and upgrades.</p><p><br></p><p>Human Resources:</p><p>Support HR functions including payroll, expense approvals, and compliance.</p><p>Liaise with HR on employee matters and policy updates.</p><p><br></p><p>Lease & Insurance:</p><p>Maintain lease schedules and ensure timely renewals.</p><p>Manage insurance coverage for assets, operations, and employees.</p><p><br></p><p>Legal & Compliance:</p><p>Coordinate with legal advisors on contracts, compliance, and regulatory matters.</p><p>Ensure timely submission of IRS and other government forms.</p><p><br></p><p>Banking & Cashflow:</p><p>Update bank cash flow weekly</p><p>Maintain banking relationships, including account setup and closures.</p><p>Serve as administrator for FAB & NAB bank accounts.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Bachelor’s Degree or above in Accounting/Finance or related discipline</p><p>Experience and knowledge in financial system, strong knowledge of taxation</p><p>Hands-on experience with CargoWise, including financial modules</p><p>Experience with multi-currency accounting, foreign exchange management, and international transfer pricing using Xero system</p><p>Dynamics, Result-Oriented, Self Driven and familiar with Multinational Cultures</p><p>A very high level of personal integrity.</p><p>Experience in logistics and freight forwarding industry would be an advantage</p><p>Has above computer literacy especially in the use of MS office applications</p><p>Knowledgeable of tax reconciliation work using AU, US tax regulatory and laws and compliance.
