The Opportunity

We're looking for a Drone Operations Associate to join our Mapping Operations team based in Cape Town. This team is responsible for the fulfilment of the Tree Insights Product, which includes the scheduling, collection and processing of drone data, to provide growers with in-depth tree and zonal analytics. 

Your primary focus will be drone partner communication and relationship management, monitoring and scheduling drone missions, data validation and pilot invoicing. This means you need to be highly organised and driven, with the ability to manage and optimise existing processes. You'll need to communicate effectively with multiple external stakeholders as well as the various teams within Aerobotics. 

What you'll do

  • Scheduling and assigning drone services to our pilot network
  • Own & manage all drone operations communications to various stakeholders 
  • Ensuring all flights are completed and uploaded on time and the data is validated, ensuring the correct imagery is collected
  • Provide support to pilots, commercial team, clients and other stakeholders in a professional and efficient manner
  • Manage key strategic partnerships with drone pilots
  • Responsible for the timely, accurate, and complete recording of pilot invoices, as well as the provision of the payment information to the finance team to enable seamless payments to our drone partners.
  • Technical drone support to the drone pilot network
  • Drone partner lead management, onboarding and training
  • Supporting the broader Mapping Operations team with Salesforce-related functions, including generating drone flight reports, ensuring accuracy in pilot and client billing, and managing flight forecast dashboards to aid in data processing planning. 

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree preferably with a focus on business, finance, logistics or communications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Operations dealing with planning, communications and relationship management
  • Customer centricity in all you do
  • Strong organisational skills including immaculate attention to detail
  • A proactive approach to work - taking initiative to improve processes, anticipating issues before they arise, and following up consistently without needing reminders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Afrikaans fluency is a bonus 
  • Basic ability to perform analytics in google sheets 
  • Experience with Salesforce and Asana is an advantage
  • A good understanding of drones is an advantage
