Our Civils & Drainage (C&D) business unit plays a critical role in supporting the UK’s infrastructure, from water management to power, utilities, highways, and energy. We supply engineered precast solutions that enable safer, more efficient, and more resilient infrastructure networks.

With growing demand across national water frameworks and the energy transition, the C&D team is strengthening its strategic capability to deepen technical engagement, expand market reach, and maximise cross-catalogue engineered solutions.

What’s the Mission?
We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to position Marshalls C&D as the trusted precast solutions partner of choice for major frameworks and key projects across the utilities and infrastructure sector.

Your mission will include:

  • Proactively identifying and converting high-value project and framework opportunities, particularly within the water and energy sectors
  • Building strong strategic relationships with contractors, clients, and consulting engineers
  • Driving early engagement opportunities for our Sales, Design, and Engineering teams
  • #Developing a robust project pipeline that delivers profitable growth and increased market share
  • Shaping long-term growth opportunities aligned with Marshalls’ investment and expansion strategy

This is a collaborative and strategically influential role, working closely with colleagues across Sales, Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Operations to deliver tailored, engineered precast solutions.

Mission-Critical Skills & Experience

  • A solid track record in senior technical sales or business development serving the civils and infrastructure market, with the ability to understand and communicate design-led solutions
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to analyse market trends and develop compelling value propositions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and confident commercial decision-making
  • Awareness of market dynamics, competitor activity, and customer need
  • Demonstrated success in sales, business development, and account management
  • Excellent negotiation abilities with a proven track record of closing deals
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, internally and externally
  • In-depth understanding of the construction and infrastructure landscape, including regulations, standards, and best practice is highly desirable
